Weekend Haul

Wednesday, August 29, 2012
This was actually last week's haul but I didn't have the time to blog.

Sorry for the amateur watermark. It's the best I can do. HAHA

FOREVER 21

Finally, F21 opened in MOA! I've waited years for this. I invested on white tops so I can pair them with anything. Forgot the prices of the tops though. I think each is in the price range of PHP 700-900.

I also got this pair of pants for only PHP 555. What a great find! It fits my body perfectly and it's a unique color for denim, as well. The cloth isn't too thick, unlike most denim pants, so it wouldn't be too "hot" when I wear this.

Accessories!! I fell in love with the turquoise necklace (PHP 300+) upon laying my eyes on it. Look at the ombre bead pattern! Very lovely. I also got myself a spiky bracelet for PHP 250 (It was half its original price). The pink and gold set of bangles (PHP 400+), and the spiky rings (PHP 280) will be my birthday gifts for my friend. I hope she likes them!

SM DEPARTMENT STORE

I've been an SM girl since I was a kid. Great finds for affordable prices. I got this pair of sandals for PHP 700. The brand was Charcoal and I got a freebie (see below)

ETUDE HOUSE

My go-to brand when it comes to makeup. I purchased the Precious Mineral Bright Fit BB Cream (PHP 798). I was supposed  to buy the All-Day Strong formula, but I was informed that it was already phased out. I also got this duo fibre brush (PHP 428). *reviews to come soon* I received another freebie! Yay!

FREEBIES

Pink pencils from Etude House and a coin purse from Charcoal.

WATSONS

Because of my hair type, I have to invest on sulfate-free shampoos. Luckily, there is an inexpensive brand called Organix found in Watsons. I believe Organix is not available in all Watsons branches. This conditioner  bottle costs PHP 450. I also bought some plasters because my feet get blisters when my shoes are still new. lol

SM GTW REDHEAD

The money used to buy this top was originally to be used as a gift for my best friend. She wasn't able to pick out anything so she decided to choose this top (PHP 550) for me. I think it is so lovely! I love the patterns. It somehow reminds me of Picasso. I don't really know why.

High waist green pants (PHP700)! OMG! I love the color and the fact that it's hight waist. It's going to make me look so much taller. HAHA.

Also, while strolling around the mall, salesladies gave me flyers for the Redhead Model Search 2012. The requirements for the contestants are:
  • 15-25 years old, single
  • At least 5'1" in height
  • Must purchase at least PHP 399 worth of Redhead products to get the unique code
I met all the requirements so I joined. I feel narcissistic for doing this because I am not totally model-material, but this may be my chance to pursue my model dreams and the prizes are so awesome. A contract for Elite Management (that's the most famous modeling agency there is. Supermodels like Adriana Lima are under Elite. lol) worth PHP 60000, PHP 40000 cash, clothing allowance, and a subscription to my all-time favorite magazine, Candy. My mom and best friend also wanted me to join. HAHA wish me luck!

That's it for my weekend haul. Burned a hole in my wallet, but I guess it's all worth it. Hope you enjoyed this post. :)

Quick OOTD: Mateo's First Birthday

Tuesday, August 7, 2012
It's raining real hard here in the Philippines so I thought I'd wear something that'll keep me warm. Plus, it's a kiddie party. I was expecting that I will join games so I chose this comfortable ensemble.

My style changes depending on my mood. I rarely go for outfits like these. Also, please excuse this extremely hipster shot. It's so hard to take a whole body shot of myself and I'm too shy to use the tripod because my parents are gonna see me. lol. HAHA. I am also not that literate when it comes to camera settings, I just use point and shoot. K.

  • Boyfriend polo from Marks & Spencer
  • Chino pants from Penshoppe
  • Bracelet from SM Accessories (found this at the men's department. Deal with it)
  • Studded bracelet and necklace bought during the Super Sale Bazaar
  • "Courage" ring bought during DLSU bazaar
  • Mustache ring from Girl Shoppe
Didn't show my shoes since I felt they weren't too suitable for the outfit. If I had a pair, I would wear white or red Keds with this.

Trivia: I just discovered about that star charm on my bracelet. It resembles the Lasallian star so much and I'm so amazeballs about it. HAHA

Super Sale Bazaar

Sunday, July 15, 2012
When my friend told me that there was another bazaar (see my previous post about the Superb Sale Bazaar), I felt so giddy that I knew I had to save a lot of money. I planned to buy lots of shoes during this bazaar, but I wasn't even able to buy a pair because the styles which I liked didn't have my size. It's so annoying when this happens.

I am so broke right now. I spent about 80% of all my money here. Talk about impulse buying. I feel so guilty, but at the same time happy because I was able to purchase quite a lot. The experience was tiring but I enjoyed it. My friend and I searched the racks patiently just to look for the perfect items. The shops participating here are mostly online stores. I grabbed the chance in buying lots of stuff because I wanted to avoid the hassle of online shopping.

The bazaar ends today!

Photos of items I bought:

TOPS:
I only noticed until I got home that all the tops I have bought are floral. I didn't plan to buy them all, but I just had to. I wanted the galaxy printed shirts and the structured blazers. They were too loose on me. Ugh.

Kimono/vest. I am not sure though.
Price: PHP 300

Mullet top. Crazy floral prints. Me likey.
Price: PHP 400

Floral top with lace details.
Price: PHP 450? (I can't remember exactly)

You can wear this top in 2 ways! Cool!
Price: PHP 550

COSMETICS:
I just couldn't resist. They're NYX products. I don't come across this brand in malls and they're priced cheaper so I gave in.

Concealer in a Jar (beige, I purchased the medium shade before but it was too dark, PHP 300)
Rouge cream blush in Natural, PHP 350
Lipliner pencil in Natural, PHP 130

ACCESSORIES:

2-chain cross necklace. Been searching for so long.
Price: PHP 300

Polymer clay earrings. I don't know why I am into fancy earrings nowadays. I also saw these cool pop culture earrings but I wasn't able to buy some :(
Panda - PHP 80 (I am addicted to these creatures!)
Cupcakes - PHP 50
Cookie Monster - PHP 50

Studded bracelet. Not really my style but they look cool.
PHP 250

BAG:

Satchel from Queen Street
PHP 500

No more desserts for weeks again. Boohoo. Need to save up. More bazaars to go to (hopefully!) I hope they make another shoe sale bazaar, though. :\\

SM Department Store haul + my Purple Card Purchase

Sunday, June 24, 2012
Today, we went to Mall of Asia after visiting my cousin who recently gave birth. It was a short trip. We stayed at the mall for only about 2 hours. 2 hours is actually very short for me to find clothes which I like, but I was able to buy a few. The department store is my haven because I am just so cheap and the clothes are pretty anyway.

After shopping at the department store, my dad joined me in finding the perfect purchase for my Purple Card points. We went to Zara because that's the first store that came into my mind. I was so baffled on what to choose. There were a  lot of pretty items. In fact, so pretty that I know I won't be able to wear them to school. I found a pretty blue dress which was love at first sight and it costed PHP 3000. My dad argued that I should buy something that I will be wearing often. I just couldn't decide right there in the store. I was even so nervous on spending the points because PHP 3000 is so big for me. I know I can't spend it on something that I will just hide in my closet. After several minutes, I asked my dad if we could look into other stores.

We went to Marks & Spencer. Upon entering the store, I knew my purchase will be safer since the clothes displayed were wearable for everyday use. This blue and red plaid blouse caught my eye. I found candidate number one. We went to Steve Madden to see some shoes but they were all so damn expensive for the design, which forces me back to Marks & Spencer. After long minutes of deliberation, I finally made a decision. I bought the shirt because I know I can pair it with almost anything and I can wear it to school. I actually find it attractive since it's a bit loose, making it look like a boyfriend polo. :)

From left to right:

  • Dickies mint green pants (PHP 999) - I always hated colored pants. I found them tacky, but these mint colored ones definitely changed my mind. I think this color looks classy especially when paired with a basic white button-down
  • Dickies skinny denim pants (PHP 899)- At last! Dark wash skinny pants which hugs my legs properly! And it doesn't feel uncomfortable either.
  • True Love vest (PHP 550)- My first vest. I am still finding ways on how I can style this.
  • Redhead mullet dress (PHP 600)- Finally, I've braved myself in buying this type of clothing. It's actually orange but the color kind of changed in the picture. I never had an orange item in my closet so this one is a first for me. I am actually excited on wearing this!
  • Marks & Spencer plaid blouse (PHP 2750)
  • Jessica flats (PHP 350) - I bought this mainly because it's the rainy season. It's made of plastic. Quite nice since they don't look like rain shoes and they're cheap. What a steal! My mom was supposed to buy me Crocs but I decided to use that money to buy this pair plus more clothes. Smart shopping. ;)
I'm so sorry, wallet. I'll start filling you up again. :)

Wishlist: Wardrobe Items For Lookbook

Monday, May 7, 2012

(print screen from Lookbook website)

I have been planning to set up a Lookbook account. No, I have an account; I just don't have looks yet. I'm a bit troubled since I don't own a lot of clothes. I know that you just need to be creating in mixing up outfits but I still feel like I need more.

See? I only got one closet and half of the clothes there I don't really use. I usually just wear my t-shirts and jeans to school since commuting is such a hassle. The folded clothes at the bottom are the ones which I wear regularly and those which are hanged are the clothes which I only wear on special occasions (e.g. Christmas or New Year's Eve) and at the mall. I get too shy to wear these at school. I want to stretch out my wardrobe and include more statement pieces, accessories, and lots of SHOES!

Yesterday, I have been outlining some possible outfit ideas for Lookbook. So far, I have only come up with seven. These outfit ideas are not too hype-able (?) like the ones on the Hot Page but I'll post them anyway. I still need to purchase accessories and some shoes to go with these outfits. Here are some items which I think I would need:

  • Lots of pairs of skinny jeans in basic colors, mint green, and white. (I just don't find my straight cut pants flattering with flats)

  • Brown loafers

  • Plain white short sleeve and long sleeve shirts
  • Denim cut offs
  • Tank tops which hug my body perfectly - Everything I find is loose. :(

  • Teal statement necklace (I love this color! It's my new favorite.)

  • Head wraps

  • Those round glasses I was talking about in a previous post.
  • Lots of flats in all designs imaginable.
  • White or gray Keds

  • Oxfords

  • These types of boots. (It'll be last on my list since I won't be able to use this all the time.)

Let's save money! I hope I can start with Lookbook in three months time and I hope everything in this list (plus more) are already in my closet. I can't wait! Share your Lookbook account's link with me if you have one. I'll fan! :)

*I do not own any photos in the list. All pictures were taken from Google Images.

Wishlist: Lennon Glasses

Thursday, May 3, 2012
Today, I went to the mall with my dad to buy some groceries. I went to Watson's to see if I can find some decent angled eye brushes from Marrionaud and if the E.L.F. counter there has the eyebrow which I have been wanting to test. After that, I walked by the Fly shades stall and saw a pair of Lennon glasses. This model has a bigger frame compared to regular ones. Luckily, I was able to glance at the price. It costs PHP 320. I think that's quite a good deal, right? Of course, I do need some more research if these types of lenses will flatter the shape of my face. Also, I don't have a slim nose so that might be a problem. I believe they are this big:

(pictures are from Google Images)

These glasses are so fashionable! I do hope they'd still look good on me despite having a flat nose and a small face. What do you think? :)

Love From London.

One of my biggest dreams is to go to London someday. Since the weather in England ranges from cold to rainy, I decided to make a look of what I'll probably wear if ever I go to this place. The brown neutral shades of the accessories will balance out the loud print of the shirt dress. Hints of pink for the makeup will also provide a sweet and classic look.

ITEMS:
  • Etude House Marble Marble blusher
  • Bobbi Brown lip gloss
  • Cru coral rose ring
  • Steve Madden messenger bag
  • Marks and Spencer hat
  • Ready For Rain booties
  • Kenneth Cole Reaction leggings
  • Zara Nina Gingham dress

Biker Chic.

Wednesday, May 2, 2012
The cropped top + cut offs give off that rebel look. The black hues of the boots and jacket provides more edge to the whole outfit. Layers of necklaces were also added for more 'spunk'. To top it off, black eyeliner on the top lods and a deep shade of red on the pout will be applied. Unfortunately, there weren't any available head wraps. :(( This look is also goes with the ombre hair! :D

ITEMS:

  • Etude House Dear Darling Lips
  • Beauty Bar Kohl eyeliner
  • Cru Vintage layered necklace
  • Oleic cross necklace
  • Steve Madden Troopa leather boots
  • Aloha Boardsports cropped shirt
  • Aloha Boardsports cut-offs
  • Massimo Dutti leather jacket

Red, Blue, and Yellow.

I love mixing loud colors! This outfit has red, yellow, and blue colors to avoid making the black and white shirt and skirt combo from looking too bland. This versatile look can be worn as a casual or corporate outfit.

ITEMS:
  • Oleic crochet earrings
  • Juicy Couture black leather bag
  • Schu Twiligt blue wedges
  • Gap v-neck
  • Massimo Dutti red blazer

Beach Goddess.

This look is perfect for summer getaways at the beach.

ITEMS:
  • R.A.F maxi skirt
  • Gap camisole
  • MUJI mesh trim belt
  • Jellybean platforms
  • Aloha Boardsports Billabong hat
  • Agatha Mingao ring
  • Cache Cache Jingerlain ring

Ombre.

Some people call this hairstyle dip dye or two tones but I prefer calling it ombre. Since my hair is curly and a  total mess, I cannot sport this look because I'd probably look like a poodle but if I had long flowing hair, I would have done this ages ago. I think this type of hairstyle is so fashionable. I prefer colors which belong to a similar scheme like brunette and blond. I wouldn't go too crazy on neons and pinks.

When I saw Patricia Prieto for our LPEP activity, I was so fascinated with her hair. I think she has about 3 colors. So amazing. (*__*)

I see a lot of people in Lookbook and in La Salle having their hair like this and I'm so jealous. :( When can I possibly achieve this look? Huuuuu.

Jitterbug.

I love anything retro! The 50's and 60's are my favorite eras in fashion. Think of Zooey Deschanel in 500 Days of Summer. I wish skirts and dresses are still the staples in every girl's wardrobe. Now, it's just pants and Daisy Dukes, and anything skimpy.

I love mod dresses! They're either block colors, loud basic patterns, or a combination of both. Cute!

I'm finding sunglasses like these. RayBan ones are too expensive. :(

My brother and I at Pangasinan. LOL. I got this pair for my birthday. This was from Aldo. I love it! So adorable and it goes with anything. :D

And the high waist swimsuits (I wouldn't wear them but I find them somehow unique). The stripes and polka dot patterns complete the pin-up look.

I don't know if I have a weird taste in fashion but I just love these looks. I'm hoping these will become popular again. After all, fashion is about bringing in trends which have been outdated. It's actually just an infinite cycle. :D
